Step 1: Generate Your Idea
Generating a viable sponsored program/research project idea isn’t as simple as being creative and knowledgeable. The resources in this section provide tips, techniques, forms, and process for generating your idea.
Before you begin searching for a grant to support your project idea, do your homework, develop your concept, and seek the support of the Office of Sponsored Programs to guide you through the Grant Life Cycle and related policies and procedures.
Completing the Grant Project Idea Form
The Grant Project Idea Form is intended for faculty and staff who wish to pursue grant (sponsored program) funding for a project or event. Information collected through this form will assist the Office of Sponsored Programs in providing grant-related resources, support, and training. The Grant Project Idea Form is a brainstorming tool, and in no way initiates the routing & authorization process required for the College’s endorsement of a grant-funded project. The Routing & Authorization Timeline serves as a guide for Carthaginians involved in the first four steps of the Grant Life Cycle. Adherence to the schedule outlined in the Routing & Authorization Timeline will ensure adequate completion of the Routing & Authorization Form and compliance with Carthage policies.
